Toussaint Louverture is the black liberator who had, in his time and after his death, the greatest political influence in History. His fame is literally worldwide, because his name quickly became the symbol of the self-determination of peoples in West Indies, in Europe, in Africa, United States and even in Asia. Parents attributed his name to their children, in order to assure them a bright future(even in Asia, imagine!), and the soldiers went to war with his effigy around their necks or in their pockets.
